Here’s what you’ll need:
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup splenda or sugar-free sweetener
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup flour

Directions:
First, preheat your oven for 325 degrees. Then, mix all of the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. When the dough forms, roll into small balls or drop by the teaspoonful onto a lightly greased cookie sheet (use a non-stick cookie spray instead of butter to keep it healthier). Then, press each ball or spoonful flat with a fork that has been coated in flour. Make a criss cross pattern on top of each cookie. Then bake for about 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from oven, cool on cooling racks, and then serve. Makes about 36 cookies.

Nutrition Facts: 45 calories, 2 grams of fat, 69.1 mg of sodium, 1.4 grams of protein, 0.3 grams of fiber, 6.1 grams of carbs

Tip: For an extra boost of protein, add some of your favorite protein powder into the batter.

According to a new study published in The New England Journal of Medicine, dieters can now use a new technique to keep weight off. Well, actually, it’s an old technique – but now there’s proof to back it.

Researchers conducted a two-part study that randomly assigned more than 750 people who had just lost an average of 8 percent of their body weight to continue with one of five maintenance diets. One of those diets focused on higher protein and lower glycemic index foods and was found to be the most effective in keeping weight off after dieting.
